Child Safety Policy

Guardian consent

• A parent or legal guardian must enroll any participant under 18
• Consent includes emergency contact information and an electronic signature
• Guardians receive the weekly lesson structure and program expectations in advance
• A guardian may withdraw a child from a program at any time

Communication boundaries

• No private one-to-one messaging between a coach and a minor outside approved channels
• A guardian is copied on or has access to program communication
• Sessions are scheduled, documented, and never held in private, unmonitored settings
• Virtual sessions with pre-teens require a guardian present or reachable

Coach standards

• Coaches working with minors sign safeguarding and ethics acknowledgments
• Coaches complete boundary and reporting training before working with youth
• Any concern is reported to an administrator the same day it arises

Mandatory reporting

Faithful Path reports suspected abuse or neglect of a child to the appropriate authorities as required by law. This obligation overrides confidentiality and is explained to guardians and participants before enrollment.

What guardians can see

Guardians receive attendance, weekly summaries, progress information, and any safety concern. Private reflections written by a young person are not automatically shared, so that honesty is possible, except where safety or law requires disclosure.

Raising a concern

If a guardian or participant has any concern about conduct, contact the ministry directly. Concerns are documented, reviewed by an administrator, and answered.
