Overview

The Spiritual Mentor Certification builds on the twelve-week Spiritual Mentor Program with additional case study, safeguarding, and evaluation requirements. Mentors learn to encourage growth without controlling it, to document responsibly, and to refer when a need exceeds the mentoring role.

Prerequisites

  • Age 18 or older
  • Completion of the Spiritual Mentor Program, or an approved equivalent
  • Agreement to the Faithful Path Statement of Faith and Code of Ethics
  • Safeguarding acknowledgment on file

    What is protected, what must be disclosed, and how to explain it.

    Accountability

    Mentor supervision and mutual accountability.

    The Faithful Path Code of Ethics applied to mentoring.

    Protecting minors and vulnerable adults; mandatory expectations.

Ethics, assessment, and graduation

Ethics requirements

  • Written ethics acknowledgment signed before practicum activities begin

  • Accountability to an assigned instructor throughout the program
  • Referral protocol for medical, mental-health, legal, and crisis situations

Is mentoring the same as coaching?
They overlap, but mentoring emphasizes relationship and spiritual companionship over structured goal work.
Does this license me to counsel?
No. Certification through Faithful Path does not qualify or license a person as a therapist, counselor, psychologist, social worker, physician, or other licensed healthcare professional.
