At a glance
This certification prepares believers to come alongside others as Christian spiritual coaches. It combines biblical foundations with practical coaching skill: listening, goal setting, accountability, documentation, and trauma-aware compassion that never crosses into therapy. Practice coaching sessions and instructor evaluation are required.
Program length
15 modules delivered over approximately 15 weeks, plus practicum
Module 1
What coaching is, what it is not, and the biblical basis for walking alongside others.
Module 2
The coach's own identity, calling, and ongoing spiritual formation.
Module 3
Using Scripture accurately, in context, and with pastoral care.
Module 4
Presence, reflective listening, silence, and resisting the urge to fix.
Module 5
Prayerful, specific, realistic goals and Growth Practices.
Module 6
Time, availability, dual relationships, and role limits.
Module 7
Structures that support follow-through without shame.
Module 8
The Faithful Path Code of Ethics and mandatory disclosure limits.
Module 9
Recognizing trauma responses, responding with care, and staying in role.
Module 10
When to stop coaching and refer to licensed or emergency professionals.
Module 11
Adults, youth with guardian consent, people with disabilities, and diverse backgrounds.
Module 12
Preparing sessions and keeping private, accurate session notes.
Module 13
Prayer, Scripture, Sabbath, and worship as sustaining disciplines for the coach.
Module 14
Supervised practice sessions with structured feedback.
Module 15
Final assessment plus a written coaching ministry plan.
